FWD: It Doesn’t Work Like That…

By

I just sent the following email to our list and thought you’d appreciate reading it as well, enjoy! :)

Where’s Ferny? And a Reminder About Your Business…

Hey John,

Raymond here.

Fernando is off in Italy at the moment so I am hijacking his “email column” for the time being. Unfortunately, he didn’t send me any cool pictures of him in Italy, so I thought I’d hit up our in-house expert graphics designer (*ahem* me) and have him do a rendition of what Fernando would look like in Italy.

After several hours of grueling graphics design work, this is what he came up with:

Now… there are several key things to note here.

1. that’s a tequila shot in Ferny’s right hand and a camera in his left, after all, it’s Ferny, as a tourist.

2. that’s a tower to Ferny’s left, and it’s leaning… so it’s the famous “Leaning Tower of Pisa“.

3. that’s a slice of pizza on the ground, ya know, because one of the things Italy is known for is pizza.

Feel free to print this out, frame it, and hang it as a materpiece in your living room. Seriously, you have my permission.

Now that we’ve updated you on Fernando’s whereabouts, let’s switch gear really quick and talk a bit about business.

Success of Your Business Is NOT a Direct Correlation of Your Effort (I Know, It Sucks)

I want to share with you something that I think too many business builders overlook, and that is simply what you put into your business, may not necessarily reflect what you may get out.

Let me explain.

Too many business-builders treat their businesses like it’s a “J-O-B”. Which is simply, “I put X number of hours in and as a direct result, I get paid Y dollars”.

And they take that SAME mentality into their businesses…

“I put in X number of hours” or “I spend X number of dollars”…

And when they don’t get “Y dollars back” they think they’ve been “had”. Or that “it doesn’t work”. Or whatever other lame excuse they can come up with and at the end of the day, they get discouraged and quit. Forever bitter at their business and opportunity.

Ouch.

Ready for the truth? You will NOT always get a direct output/benefit from your efforts and investments. Sometimes, it may be indirect. Sometimes, it may take some time for the benefit to show.

And sometimes, you may NEVER benefit in terms of what you wish to gain (which often is in terms of monetary gains).

You have two choices when you don’t get “Y back”.

1. You can stop and quit.

Or…

2. You can suck it up, chalk it as an “experience” (which you can learn from), and keep moving forward.

What seems to happen more often than not is #1. People simply give up. And it’s such a shame because one of the qualities that make people successful is their willingness to “fail” and to learn from that “failure” (if you want to even call it that). And they learn from their efforts/investments and keep progressing.

And this loosely ties into No Excuses Summit II because…

No Excuses Summit II DVDs are for Sale, at the Discounted Price (Only 124 Available)

Well, no, I guess it doesn’t really directly tie to the NESII DVD sale at the special price.

I am sure if I stretch it hard enough, I can draw some sort of connection and “master copywrite” you into believing that connection. (And frankly, somewhere deep inside my head, I do see a connection but can’t be bothered drawing that out right now.)

So I’ll just say this, NESII DVD set (all whopping 11 DVDs) are on sale right now and there are 124 of them in this first batch that we’ll part with at the special price offered at the event.

After these 124… the price goes up with the following batches. So go take a look at the offer while it’s still good. :)

This is a pretty awesome site, Raymond. Love the article because it so rings true. There were many times I was ready to throw in the towel but I thought that I would lose more in the areas of invested time and resources and calculated that it would cost more to quit than to move forward. I chose to move forward. There is something about the pressing in and pushing forward that makes things happen. It seems one while that it’s not working, it’s not working. Then all of a sudden, it starts working! Rain begins to pour. That is what happened for me. Perserverence will be a true skillset or quality to have to maintain doing business online. I am glad to have found your site and will be revisiting again often. Thank you for your wonderful advice and awesome humor. I hope Ferny has a great time and I wish you well.

    Yours,
    Jae Smith :)
